A FRIDA INSPIRED FASHION SHOOT:
Today marks the 110th anniversary of the birth of this fierce woman, known to some more for her famous ‘mono brow’ than for her ability to rise above her painful circumstances. Frida, the original Cara Delvigne. The first to really in my books be “on fleek”
In todays world, woman do anything and everything to change their appearance or better it. Sometimes ridding themselves of every last hair. As a makeup artist I am faced with this quandary each and every day. Woman giving more time and thought to their outer appearance and what the “world” thinks of them than truly spending time on inner reflection and what legacy they will leave behind long after they are gone.
” I always found her story so inspiring, a woman who quite like me, just lived her life to the absolute full, not giving one damn what other people thought of her “madness” There is something so freeing about being yourself, being truly you and being 100% happy in that
The parallels between the two of us both strong, independent woman but who still love their man fiercely are uncanny. To know she painted to showcase the beauty that surrounded her and I paint to enhance the beauty that encompasses me daily, made this photo shoot even more special.
This shoot was a true testament to that. To having an idea, a vision. To the joy in seeing that brought to life in such vivid and amazing colour and imortalised forever. For not only others to enjoy but mostly for me to enjoy”
The inspiration for this shoot can be summed up in this quote:
